CONCERN is shared by town councillors in Brigg that pylons will be used instead of underground cables to distribute electricity from the proposed new straw burning power station at Scawby Brook.

Councillors, in general, backed the project and were reassured by the designated lorry route that would see access via the M180 at Forest Pines and then the A18 and A15 towards Scawby. Lorries would therefore avoid Brigg Town Centre.

But residents of Scawby Road are understood to be preparing a protest group. If you are affected by the plans and have a point to make on either side, contact the Mail to be sure that your views are heaad. Email jason.hippisley@jpress.co.uk.
