HIGH standards set last year were maintained by A-level students at Brigg Sixth Form, with an impressive 20 subjects coming in with a 100 per cent pass rate.
Overall the pass rate was 97 per cent with 166 of the 172 exam entries, coming in as a pass grade, 61 per cent of them marked A to C.

“These results, in total, reflect very good progression from GCSE results two years ago,” said Nick Grafton, c
o-director of the sixth form with Mark Bradley.

“This underlines the hard work and effort of all students and their teachers.”

The pair were delighted with the achievements of students in the college.

There were some high individual point scores enabling every applicant to access courses at university.

Notable students were Chelsea Barnes who achieved five passes at A-C to take up a place at Lincoln University to study architecture; Alex Dunn gained two grade As and one B to go to Lincoln University to study film and TV journalism; and Simon Morgan’s two As and two Bs will take him to Hull University to study business studies.

Mr Grafton said the AS-level passes at 86 per cent also maintained the standard of last year and provided students with a sound foundation for success next summer.

“The students should be thoroughly congratulated on their achievements and we also pay tribute to the dedication of the teaching staff,” said Mr Grafton. “Now we look forward to a productive second year for these students in the college.”
