AMBULANCE staff operating in Brigg have been praised by bosses for their clear committment to patients' needs.
East Midlands Ambulance Services’ director of operations, Dave Whiting and director of human resources, David Farrelly have been touring ambulance stations across the whole of the East Midlands to discover opinions and views for further service impro
vement.

Concerns were expressed in the Brigg area in particular following changes in the running of the system.

But Robert Walker, general manager for community relations, said “The message coming through loud and clear is that our staff are committed to meeting the needs of patients.

“We are always keen to get the views of staff at the sharp end. They deal with patients every day and are often best placed to suggest changes to the care we give.

“We have found a lot of goodwill from staff when it comes to making a real difference for the public we serve.”

The visits came on top of the best ever response times to 999 calls by the service; responding to 78.2 per cent of the most serious life-threatening call within 8 minutes and 95.6 per cent of serious but not immediately life-threatening calls within 19 minutes.

As previously reported in the Mail politicians have been satisfied that the local changes to introduce a fast response car and remove Brigg’s dedicated ambulance are not proving to be deterimental to patient welfare.
